Lake Taupo to National Park

Early start again! Most of the time we were up at 6.30 but didnt mind too much as we seemed to see so much in a day!
All I can say about the scenery is that it was stunning, just being on the bus and looking out the window was sweet. I feel like I have seen so much of NZ even though I havent actually done anything!
We did a tour of Waitomo Caves,a guide drove us through the country and through a farm where the cave was. Apparently if you buy the land then you also own (possibly) the cave too!
Walking down lots of steps in to the darkness was not that fun. there were a few candles around to adjust your eyes but mine took ages. Yoou have to duck down to go through bits but it was worth it. we even saw lots of glow worms! You could go rafting in the actual cave which looked scary we actually saw a few people doing it and their guide was shouting out stuff making everyone jump.

The caves are 3KM long but you can only walk to 400M. Looking up there was lots of rocks jetting down, looked pretty cool.
After the cave tour we drove onto National Park. yep that is its name. nothing else. You are supposed to see lots of Mountain Ranges but the weather was shit so we saw cloud. like being back in bloody England!
We did get to see Tawhai Falls - this is where part of LOTR is filmed, Golum is sitting by these falls!

The evening was spent in the hostel in National Park. Absolutely nothing going on there. although they did have a climbing wall which a few of the boys climbed. Entertainment consisted of music, cards and wine - cant get any better than that!
