Day 1 in New Zealand

After our stressful journey, we finally got to Auckland, getting our work visa was easy, probably the easiest I have had going through customs - they didnt even ask to see our visas! I get super nervous when it comes to customs due to a trip to the US but the last few countries have been much more chilled!

We were staying at a hostel (of course) and had to get into the city, luckily it was relatively easy&just hopped on a bus - you could pay for it on your card and the machine was right by the bus stop - I was impressed!
The hostel was not the best, we had a room and it had no window! I didnt even know they were still allowed to have that, suppose it is NZ and not the UK. We went down to the bar where the ladies get 3 free drinks, that turned into 6 free drinks so i was loving it so far! the bar was an absolute dive and full of drunken travellers!

The next day we got up and was excited to go sightseeing and it was pissing it down with rain! So we jumped on a bus and did a few loops of Auckland then just chilled at the hostel.
The next day was beautiful sunshine and we walked to Mission Bay - about 1 and 1/2 hour walk (one way!) Absolutely stunning. The Ocean and hills in the distance on one side and mini mountains/funky rocks on the other - really pretty. Mission Bay was nice - it was nice that there is a mini beach just outside the city - a few cafes, a really nice seaside feel. Not the nicest of beaches but then we had come from Aus and we were still in Auckland!

After Fish&Chips and an ice-cream (of course!) we wandered back and met the worse hostel room-mates ever. They were girls too and there was sooo much shit everywhere it was vile.
Nice and loud and when the checked out the next day there was so much rubbish and a pair of guys bottoms with his wallet and passport in it! He was british - so proud!

We had another night in Auckland but this was spent chilling and eating pizza! yummy. Joe found out he had an interview so we had to find some clothes for him! We were super excited about our magic bus tour the next day! We booked this in August so been waiting a loooong time for it!
